The inventory control specialist is in charge of managing product. They enter data on material held by Spartan into SAP (Systems Application Products) software. They must also recognize and resolve quantity discrepancies, make quantity reports, and prepare extensive quantitative statements that help with inventory control duties. They participate in company meetings and provide recommendations on how to make inventory control responsibilities more efficient. The Inventory Control Specialists may help with training new staff members as well.
Inventory Control Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
Keep detailed records of any changes in inventory and report these changes to the proper department. They will do this on a regular basis. Cycle counting bin locations will be the most effective method of ensuring accuracy. Inventory control specialists may also record information about each individual item for future reference.
The Inventory Control Specialist will inspect product and take note of any damaged or potentially unusable products. They may send defective products back to the supplier or dispose of them according to company standards.
The Inventory Control Specialist will be expected to keep detailed and accurate records of any change in inventory. These changes are usually compiled into reports or entered into a database and presented to a manager. This allows the company to keep track of inventory accuracy.
Inventory Control Specialist Skills and Qualifications
Inventory Control Specialists must be able to keep track of changes in inventory on a regular basis. This means they should know how to perform basic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Inventory Control Specialists are often required to enter inventory information into SAP or a spreadsheet. They may also need to send emails to other departments.
Managing many material codes can be difficult, but inventory control specialists must know the location and state of each item. They must also be able to notice product defects and flaws.
Inventory Control Specialists must be comfortable keeping track of numerous products and extensive amounts of information.
