Spartan Logistics was founded in 1988 in Columbus, Ohio as a warehouse and distribution provider to service the growing industrial base and logistically take advantage of Ohio’s centralized location. This positioned us well to grow to over 1.8 million square feet throughout Ohio and Indiana, as well as additional warehouse locations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Arkansas and Missouri. Spartan Logistics' sales focus has been handling of food grade materials, glass, paper and fragile/high value products. In addition to warehousing, Spartan Logistics provides full-service transportation, allowing us to provide seamless pick-up, storage and delivery to our customers.

Spartan Logistics has invested heavily in custom-designed inventory management software that provides a full range of warehouse management: billing, electronic data transmission, label generation, and online tracking capability. Spartan Logistics continuously improves supply chain flow for our customers by providing turnkey    3PL services and value added contributions like packing, quality control, co-packing, EDI integration, and inventory management. These contributions have elevated Spartan Logistics to be recognized as a regional leader in the Columbus warehouse and logistics industry. We are proud members of both the IWLA and the Columbus Regional Logistics Council. Spartan Logistics is dedicated to being involved in the community through our employees. Steve Harmon, President & Co-Owner

  • CPA and former manager at a major consulting firm
  • Graduate of American University, Washington, D.C.
  • Active in the company since inception and has worked in designing logistics systems, consulting, procedures, and inventory control systems
  • Served as company CFO for 15 years- Promoted to Managing Director in 2010
  • Serves as company treasurer and member of Board of Directors
Josh Ledford, Executive Vice President
  • Graduate of Owens Community College - Toledo, Ohio
  • Extensive experience in working with customers to solve logistics problems and achieve cost savings
  • Active in the company and industry for 15 years
  • Manages business development and customer relations

Chuck Harrison, Director of Government Operations

  • Served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Kennedy CV-67
  • Over ten years of experience in distribution management
  • Completed Associate’s Degree in Business / Operations Management while working for Spartan
  • Simultaneously designed and started two remote operations for dedicated contract warehousing

Mike Garverick, Director of Safety and Maintenance

  • Graduate of Northwest Ohio-Business and Mechanical
  • Over ten years of experience in safety and DOT regulations
  • Established ground up Safety programs
  • Provide company safety and DOT compliance
  • Manages company Maintenance Department

Elza Harmon, Director of National Accounts

  • Graduate of Morehead State University
  • Over 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and distribution
  • Established foreign operations in Mexico for industrial distribution
  • Manages national customer accounts

Sam Coil, Controller

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Accounting Specialization

  • Working toward certification as a Qualified Warehouse Logistics Professional (QWLP) through IWLA

Kelly Swingle, Marketing Manager
